For shame Lids, for a Fan Base that prides our selves on 'If yer know yer History', I hope we're not too lost in our shallowness, our wallowing in the now, not to cast our minds back and remember one of the greatest days in that History we go on about.
A day of Hope then despair, of redemption, then finally of well deserved Triumph.
A day when giants bestrode that hallowed turf (a day sadly over shadowed and forgotten by many outsiders due to the nature of the later World Cup win.)
I read that Mike Trebilcock is back in England and that Derek Temple finally received a League Medal to go with his Cup Medal...I hope The Club are doing something at the game on Sunday.
Many of us will have our own story of the day, of 50 yrs - gone in an instant, where seems like only yesterday young Degsy was sagging school, sheet of vouchers from his programs in pocket, to queue for his ticket.
Good to see nothing has really changed; Even back then Reffs were turning down nailed on penalties against us.
