If we were invited and declined the invitation to the superleague then the "classy Everton" shouts make sense. We weren't invited. Our pontificating may be seen as coming from a place of bitterness rather than righteousness.
Except the positioning is the same as when The Big Picture in 2019 was mooted, and certain privileges were to have been 'granted' to us by these arrogant splitter clubs. Everton refused then and went on the record to decry it. This time they have been even more outspoken and Farhad Moshiri was adamant any attack on the pyramid, no matter the financial incentive, was against the spirit of football and the historic pyramid.
I know how certain people may see it, and how many kopites are spinning it (indeed Sky are eulogising Klopp, Henderson and Dalglish for 'beating the breakaway' when I thought Klopp was weak and equivocal on Monday, and far stronger in 2019) to make Everton look bad, but I think the rest of football knows the truth, and we don't need more cynicism from within the Everton side of the debate.
