The best thing about the David Moyes years was the fans faith in their manager which gave him the confidence to manage players as he saw fit. Since his departure that faith hadn’t been there, and pressure on Social Media keeps growing to kill the managers confidence and then the players confidence and will to win. With Ancelotti we as fans now have the chance to trust in a top class manager to get things right. We don’t need nasty comments from people, who, lets face it have hardly played since school and even then we’re probably weren’t even in the 1st team already criticising one of the most successful managers of all time. tje Moshiri millions have brought a strange sense of entitlement to us as fans and life isn’t as easy as that. Let’s get behind our manager and watch our team progress. It will take time and won’t be easy but Evertonians know all about things not being easy. ICWT.

I think a total lack of ability has killed the last 4 managers more than social media if I’m honest. And it’s also hard to get behind a manager when the team regresses instead of progressing. Nice sentiment though.

Indulging Moyes on the sentimentality of saving us for such an unusual length of time is one of the reasons we're so suspicious today we run managers out of town at the first sign of trouble because we won't be fooled again. His "treachery" re Utd was a knife to the back of many (not me I fully expected every lie and attempt at purloining our better players) and queered the pitch for all who followed. Never will a manager at this or any other club be given the same latitude he enjoyed that's just the modern game

Always remember his first full season with effectively Walter's team plus Rooney finished 7th and over the ensuing decade his average finish was nearer 8th, we can't be so bereft of ambition for another decade. History will judge him as the jammiest get in history getting the gig under "just stay in the prem" Kenwright.

The best thing about the David Moyes years was the bit when we were all hanging out in the front room at Everton Football Club watching A Team and eating crisps. All the fans, players and tea ladies and all the pitch cleaners and all that. Big Ginge popped his head round the door and said “lads I’m off. Man united like” we just raised our eyebrows and went back to watching Murdoch make a machine gun out of a toupee

Fans to blame - Check
Social media - Check
Rose tinted view of the Moyes era and complete ignorance of the ire his knife to a gunfight mentality regularly drew from fans - Check

The last few managers got sacked because they were performing way below acceptable standards.

This whole concept that Evertonians are uniquely fierce in their criticism of managers, harder to please than others or permeate a toxic atmosphere at Goodison unlike that at any other ground and need to reassess their attitudes is nonsense. It's the same at pretty much any club.
