Everton Youth Teams Thread

Arsenal v Burnley has just gone 2-2 in the other premier league cup group game and its been on Arsenal twitch, if you think our streaming is bad, then there's has gone past it a lot today lol

Everton u18s win 3-0 v West Ham in the 2nd premier league cup game

Table if i did right

Burnley 4 points from 2 games - Scored 5/con 3 -GD PLUS 2
Arsenal 4 points from 2 games - Scored 4/con 3 -GD PLUS 1
Everton 3 points from 2 games - Scored 4/con 3 -GD PLUS 1
West Ham 0 points from 2 games - Scored 1/con 5 -GD Minus 4

Final Group game is 27th November v Arsenal, the top team go through Auto, while its 1 best 2nd placed team go through via all the other groups, so we probably have to beat Arsenal and hope Burnley dont win there game

Interesting to see Luke Butterfield 'demoted' from the U23s to the U18s for this game today. I think he's played in all the PL2 games so far this season.

I think it will be good for him. It allows him to be one of the biggest instead of one of the smallest. All the 18s playing up should do this.

Willie Kirk gets sacked after poor start to season. Good god - EFC showing a bit of ruthlessness. Bill is probably in a confessional right now begging for redemption, his cheeks wet with tears. If ony the same mentality prevailed throughout the club. In the youth set up sentimentality rules the day, with Unsworth et al remaining whatever they do. Not saying Unsworth and his team should be judged so much on game results but they should be judged on the skillsets of the young players they are producing and whether those players are close to first team standard - that surely is the key aim,i.e to produce first team quality players. Seems no criteria or KPIs are set and Unsworth is untouchable. However he does of course produce players with "the Everton mentality" according to his oft used trite verbosity. Oh to have an intelligent, progressive youth team coach for once in our lives.

Great goal by metcalfe, get him back into u23s ASAP!

Similar , but more spectacular, to his goal in the last game, sweet strike with right foot from left of the box .

Its definitely a question of sooner rather than later for Metcalfe getting back to the U23s, it’s tough competition though for that No6 shirt with Onyango not far off , Warrington maybe start on Monday , Price in the mix too. Metcalfe has added goals to his game though so maybe we’d play him as an 8 .

Nice to see the u18s ( and u16s) winning again, it looks to be a fairly settled side .

CM is by far the most competitive position. Hopefully one of them can start standing out as they all seem a similar level. Onyango is probably the best physically let's hope this injury has set him too far back. He is more of a Doucoure type midfielder. The others are a bit more similar to each other.
