Everton Youth Teams Thread

Well in theory you could say that Foden started in midfield . Before hand commentators suggested that Dowell was the deep lying mid with Foden and Davies ahead. Then as they started it looked likeDowell left , Davies centre , Foden right but seem to morph into Davies/ Dowell as two DFMs , Foden further forward . It was poor tactics from Boothroyd and they were unable to cope with their midfield , with the German right back marauding down the flank as Barnes on the left let him go. Kyle Walker-Peters was poor at right back , so maybe Kenny will now get a bit more recognition.
Dahoud was the outstanding German midfielder.
Sometimes you don't appreciate a player until he isn't there. And England haven't half missed Lewis Cook in that midfield. He's a class act.

Remainder that Everton u23s are in Premier League last 16 cup action home to Sunderland with a 7pm kick off Friday night at Southport, with the winners playing Blackburn u23s in the quarter final on a date yet to be decided due to this Sunderland game been delayed from early March, also as i said earlier in here if the routine of the so called draw sticks to what look's like is happening,it would be Burnley or Leeds in the semi final as its working out winner game 1 v winner game 2 and so on,and has every game in this cup,not an actual draw it seems like-games go to extra time and pens if needed,I doubt Everton will have game on just the blog if they have that

Also as by now most will know its Everton u18s v Liverpool u18s LIVE on LFCTV from Finch Farm saturday morning with an 11am kick off [coverage starting 10.30am] and maybe Everton may stream it-who the heck know's with what Everton dont say or do, Everton 4 points off top with 4 games to go for them, and having played an extra game more than the current leaders Derby, can put a big dent into Liverpool u18s chance's of winning the league-they are 3 points off top with same games played as Derby-simms as ever if he did not get a u23s call up friday will probably be the one to watch as ever,as he missed the Derby in November due to a call up for the away PL2 u23s game the day before at Brighton were he stayed a sub

Great player and really looked good for the england youth teams over the past couple of years.

Seemed to be looking very good for bournemouth before the injury. Him and brooks in the centre for them is quite exciting.

Every position in the league is worth millions, we need to get as high as possible to generate as much money as possible.
We need the money and the higher you finish the easier it is to attract players.

If we finish 7th or 10th it's hardly gonna make a difference to players we can attract

Leeds and Forest are the 1st 2 teams to reach the Premier League u23s cup semi final,Leeds won 3-1 at Bunley-watched the 1st half on Leeds twitter-while they show 2nd half's on there app, while swansea have just this minute beat Forest 3-0 on pens after been 0-0 after E/T, Swansea have won 3 of there previous 4 pen shoot outs in this comp since it began 5 years ago, forest also had a 1st half pen saved with the same player missing the pen that needed to be scored to carry on this pen shoot out -watched the full game, the 3rd Q/F is Monday afternoon between Newcastle and Derby-swansea and leeds show there games Live, and usually Derby do as well - Aston Villa are the current holders after beating swansea on pens last season, while Swansea won it the year before -so swansea going for there 3rd final in a row

It might not affect the Calibre of player but it can certainly affect the individuals concerned. Consolidating ourselves as the ‘best of the rest’ should make us more attractive to a player choosing between us and our peers. If we finish behind West Ham and wolves, what can we offer players that they can’t if we’re after the same targets?

Leeds have a very decent academy at the minute.
