Everton Youth Teams Thread

Of all the players to pick to say the fanbase overrates them haha

Eh? We're talking about the England game that's on right now, you're right, I could have picked some more players, but that wouldn't be relevant to the thread. Someone mentioned DCL Getting dropped because Solanke is a bigger name and is the RS new signing, which is quite ridiculous, I wouldn't think that's the reason. I would think the reason is, because he thinks that's the team the win the game, they are and said player, scored the goal. So the manager has got it right. DCL seems to be really highly rated on here, I've not seen much to share this opinion, nor have I seen anything to suggest he's gonna be a dud. It's our way to build a young player up like this and then knock them down. I'm merely stating that the Manager has picked, what he believes is his best team. But that's not enough for some people, who seem to think there's a bit more to it.

Great to see the Everton boys through to the semis. It was a bit of a back down to earth game for Kenny and Lookman though as both failed to live up to their previous excellent form.
Dowell was the best of the blue boys for me. A cultured left foot on show.
DCL was pants as usual. Looking at his gf, his new contract, and all the chances he gets at club and international level he's clearly done a deal with the devil.

That's knock out football for you, sometimes you just have to tough it out and take the breaks that go your way. Not a great performance from England but they're through. Great experience for our youngsters , particularly Dowell and Lookman who have to listen to and adapt to another manager's instructions. Lookman faded badly in second half and I thought we saw the best and the worst of Dowell, the sublime control when balls are fired at him ,deft flicks and passes but unable to offer a lot more when the game changed after the sending off and obvious candidate for subbing later on. I thought Kenny was pretty sound without being spectacular. Cook and the two CBs were for me the best England players.

Apart from our boys, the centre back at chelsea and cook have been englands stand out players this tournament

Tried to watch live but when the alarm went off staying in bed was just too appealing!

Just finsished watching the recording, quite a fun game despite the low score. All our attackers were a touch wasteful, Kenny did some great runs and played some lovely balls in, particularly in the first half.

Along with defenders mentioned by others, thought Woodman had a good game with some decent saves.

Looking forward to the semifinals.
