The idea of the new “ Premier League 2” format of amalgamating the old two divisions and no relegation is that clubs would be able to play their most talented Academy players without fear. We’re currently 4th from bottom with no chance of getting into the playoffs , top 16 , or next season’s PL International Cup, top 12. If they’d kept the old format we’d likely have been relegated from the old Division 1. And yet there’s nothing to show for it . It was nice to see Pickford and Armstrong starting today but really it’s largely been a wasted season in terms of progress of other players, Metcalfe apart.

Hope so, I like the kid..and, to avoid any confusion, when I said starting I didn't mean starting matches. Just want to see him get more games/time in the first team.

…pre-season is when players have a chance of impressing Dyche. My concern with Mills is he was sent out last season whilst Dobbin was kept. I like Mills myself, I also like his brother is one of the country’s top milers which suggests the genes have been passed from their Dad.
