Any reason why Chemiti hasnt had any minutes with the 23s?

Classed as a 1st team squad member and will be fit. Same reason Dobbin hasn't been given any minutes in the u21s

I'm sure they will at some point if they continue to not get any minutes in the 1st team

Should still be playing in my view and taking their spots on the bench, Cant be match fit just training and they not first choice off the bench either.

It’s more difficult with Friday night u21/ Saturday first team games. Sometimes players can play u21 , get withdrawn early and be on the first team bench next day, but it’s rare for them to get minutes in both games, just making up bench numbers really. They obviously believe Chermitti is a cut above u 21, well he should be the money we payed, but not quite first team ready and are prepared to give him time to develop and adapt.

Yea timings not great but should be getting some minutes. As you said they are just making up the numbers on a Saturday.

…not sure what the last international U21 game we hosted but I remember taking my son to England v Portugal quite a few years ago. Ronaldo played and I think Peter Clarke and Franny Jeffers were in the England team alongside Joey Barton.

These are good games to attend.

That was the last one, 2003. I was sat in the Park End that night, it was technically Franny’s homecoming as he’d re-signed on loan right as the International Break was happening, Portugal won it controversially to stop England qualifying for the Euros

England had the likes of Franny, Jags, Gaz Barry, Ameobi, Sidwell, Zamora, Defoe and Wright Phillips in the squad, Portugal had CR7, Quaresma, Tiago, Postiga (who handled the winner), Bosingwa, Viana playing for them
