Excellent win that, Spurs seem to have a good academy.

@everton: REPORT: #EFCU21 get their Premier League International Cup campaign off to the perfect start with 4-1 win over Spurs: http://t.co/RiWWy0Szf5

I think we lost to Spurs by the same scoreline a few weeks ago, so definatly a good result, as I remember they had Lloris in goal for that game, looks like we've come at them this time with err Robles:)

How did we line up behind Bryne?

Good to hear that Ledson had a good game, his lack of minutes has been a bit of a puzzle.
McAleny played a sort of wide left striker. Had an excellent first half. Henen played a similar role down the right and showed good turns of speed. Grant, Ledson and Williams dictated the centre midfield. Byrne himself is a real nuisance to an opposition back line and has a very good touch. For a striker though he doesn't seem to find enough striking positions.

Thanks mate, always hard to tell from the writeups and know they like to switch the players around a bit to see where they best fit/improve their development.

Bryne was a free pickup from Man Utd academy iirc last summer, he seems to have been a solid signing if not spectacular.
Lots to look foward to this year with several more signings for the U21s.

It was a shame there were only maybe 3-400 at the game. Hardly surprising when the OS didn't have any notification of the game even taking place. Clearly the caterers were expecting more. There were half a dozen staff behind the counters for the duration of the whole match. If only there was that ratio for a first team game we might even be able to buy a HT drink!

A good win for the lads. Unlike the last time we played, Tottenham put out a side more reminiscent of an under 21's match, without experienced internationals like Lloris. The average ages of both sides outfield players were around 18-19 as opposed to last time when we were giving spurs a couple of years difference.

We also put out a stronger team, or at least a side that resembles a reserve team, not an under 18's team and subsequently wiped the floor with them. It doesn't come as a great surprise to me, when we play the equivalent age players we are generally far superior.
