Everton Youth Teams Thread

I'm not a massive follower of our youth set-up but the who the Hell is Thomas Davies? Don't think I've seen his name appear once.
He is referred to as Tom Davies on most of the Everton media. Good player who works his socks off - iirc when our u18s were in the Dallas cup he played two full games for the England u17 team and then flew out and played another two pretty much full games, all in the space of a week.

....adding to LL, I think he captains his country. He's Alan Whittle's nephew (you will notice the blond locks) and lives in West Derby. His brother is at Tranmere.

....could be some talented youngsters on show tonight, not sure of the teams but will be an interesting watch. The Reds might have lads they have bought, like Ojo who looks good despite having that arrogant streak. Hoping Evans gets a start.

While we could all play our " 3 to watch" and be different that's a pretty good view from the Echo , when it would have been easy to go for three recognised England u18 internationals like Ledson, Connolly and Walsh. Lovely to see Robinson getting mentioned following injury issues earlier in his career, and again reflecting the superb links that exist between u18/u21/ first team when it comes to developing young players.

Odd that Ledson and Dowell don't seem to have a role with the U21s at the moment. Wonder if they've been training with the senior side due to all the injuries.

Good news for Junior, fingers crossed that things continue to work out for the lad.

Francisco Junior has extended his loan spell with Wigan Athletic. The 23-year-old midfielder, who initially joined the Latics on an initial one-month contract, will now stay with the League One outfit until 16 January.

Junior has started all three of Wigan’s league games so far this term, including the club’s first league victory of the season - a 3-0 win over Scunthorpe United - last time out. Speaking after sealing the extension, manager Gary Caldwell said: “Cisco has been a revelation since he’s arrived. When we found out there was a possibility of extending the loan, it was something I was very keen to get sorted. “He gives us something different in the middle of the park and complements very well the other players we have in that department. His attitude has been spot on and he has blended very well into the group.”

Everton Under-21 defender Jonjoe Kenny, who has also started all three league games, also remains on loan at the DW Stadium after penning a two-month loan move last month.

A good win as Sunderald beat last year's champions Middlesborough 4-0 away in their first match . Although maybe difficult to interpret that across different year groups , two away wins is a great start to their season and presumably without a few players like Evans, Davies, maybe Lavery who played for the U21s.
