Agreed. I don't think anyone who actually knew the U21s would choose these 2 as the ones to watch.
My bet is that the clubs provided the information on that one, and the media relations folks decided to throw a bone to a couple players who don't get as much attention as Ledson et al.
Could be a blessing in disguise, maybe the bigger teams just watch them two and ignore our better talents... you never know.

This is a slight worry. I can tell you now, irrespective of what our loveable neighbours ay they will not be there to watch their players. They will be their to watch the players who destroyed Liverpool's under 18's last season 5-0, and seeing if they can do it against what will be an older and more mature side tonight.
I can only hope a lot are form the football league looking for potential loans.

Although some will be from prem clubs I imagine a lot will be from the football league, it's the time of year when they'll be looking for the last few players to add to their squads and Liverpool vs Everton is a good chance to see what two premier league academies have to offer.
Considering they're mostly academy players can teams even sign them if they wanted to? And by mostly I mean a fair few.

Most of ours are signed under Contract from 17. Evans is only 16 though so that's a bit of a worry. I suspect as has been indicated above, a lot will be football league scouts looking for loans.

He is referred to as Tom Davies on most of the Everton media. Good player who works his socks off - iirc when our u18s were in the Dallas cup he played two full games for the England u17 team and then flew out and played another two pretty much full games, all in the space of a week.
