He was going to be ace for a while, at Sunderland, wasn't he? Then he just went really average.

Yeah I knew a few big Sunderland fans back then when they had Reid managing them and McCann, Kilbane and Hutchison in midfield and were challenging for Europe. Then they just fell apart the year afterwards. None of their players have looked half as good since.

Bit like Reading, Ipswich, and Fulham, really. Average players seperately but the chemistry was right and they looked world beaters.

Still can't believe that Simon Davies scored in a euorpean final and that McCann has more caps than Arteta.

My memory is hazy but we kickstarted their demise if Im right, when they were fourth or something and we tonked them 5-0 at Goodison on Boxing Day or something. They were [Poor language removed] after that.

Haven't you got that on your England shirt? Sorry, it's Gerrard isn't it?

Chico I don't know why you've turned this into an anti-England thread. Considering the best defender in England is one Phil Jagileka.

Infact he's one player who wouldn't quit England too unlike someone we know...

Yeah I think so. We've got a great record over them, to be fair.

We also sold them Brett Angel, I think, which is almost as bad as thrashing them 7-1.

Weird isn't it? We always seem to do well over them, similar to West Ham. Shame as I much, much prefer them to their geordie neighbours.

I heard England is like, well better than Scotland?

Lol I've got 2 England v Scotland threads with Chico going at once.

Better, but not well better mate.
