Put the violin away lad, you've had years to come over, it's nobody's fault but your own that you chucked all your eggs in the basket of the last Goodison Derby. People have gone to the game on days like this and not made it home.

I guess it's an emotive issue from both sides - those from far away who harbour a dream of seeing their team play in person at a stadium that won't be there in a few months, and those who are fortunate enough to live close enough to be able to watch us more regularly. Personally I don't think anyone's life should be put at risk regardless of how much time or money some of those fans may have spent to get there, and being a supporter of a club who lost a supporter in similar circumstances to today's postponement, and from a city that went through the Hillsborough tragedy I make no apologies for erring on the side of caution where health and safety is concerned.
