Another interesting thing when he spoke about Kean was that he said:

'We're counting on him for the season because we only have him and Dominic as central striker'

Interesting that there was no mention at all of Tosun. I know he's still injured like, any news on when he'll be back fit? Hopefully not mentioned because we've sorted a move out for him
He said Kean had a good game. Touch of the Jose's there. We all saw the truth.

Agree. Thought he played very poorly myself. Got to hope if we get him playing with James Allan Doucoure instead of Davies Siggy and Walcott he can do a bit better. But not sure how even playing with better players will improve his first touch etc.

We had complete control of the game so I don’t think the quality around him was a problem that night. He was just sluggish which is common when you are a bit depressed. Hopefully he recovers a bit for the next one as I think he is better than he showed in that 1st half.

Its worked out quite well for us having the cup games in consecutive weeks, Carlo touched on it in his presser before.

Gives us the chance to get our squad fit and give players like Kean an actual run of a game a week for a few weeks to see if he can get up to speed.

Sometimes you just have to play yourself out of a rut and thankfully we are loaded with games (hopefully cup games as well) to give him minutes. Methinks that goal will perk him up. And I can’t stress enough how chuffed I was to see the lads let him have that penalty. Doesn’t matter how it goes in. It obviously meant a lot to him.
