They were in the second half though, weren't they? The one Howard saved from Sessignon early on was better than any of Heitinger's, he really should have scored it. Johnson did score his, making it a better chance in my book.

It's the two missed I'm talking about. Fletcher was miles out and had a tiny target to aim at with Coleman on his heels. And Sessegnon's was no closer then the one Johnson kicked off the line.

We had more chances and better chances then they did, that's why we scored two of them and they didn't.

I tell you something, ive always thought Fletcher was quite a small chap, but he looked quite tall today, not sure how ive never noticed that before, surely he played for Wolves at Goodison?

I was referring to the first half. We didn't have the better chances, they did, hence they went in ahead.

Sessignon's chance was better than any of Heitinga's - one on one v keeper is a better chance than a header, when closely marked having to beat keeper and man on post. Johnson's was blatently the best chance of the half.

If you persist in disagreeing with me I'm gonna come round your house, ring your door bell and leg it.

were we any good? was there much of an atmosphere coming from our end? I slept through the game because I am an awful excuse for a supporter and can't handle the session

You were dangerous on the break and tight at the back. You're not really relegation fodder but, sadly, you'll finish well below the barcodes. Your turnout was poor and fairly quiet so the atmosphere was a bit flat.

O'Neill's a huge tit of course.

what coleman has added to the team from right back is huge for us, added to that you would think that hibbert defends like baresi the way some people talk, hes an ok defender who doesnt enjoy having the ball at his feet, hes not fit to lace colemans boots

On the whole we didn't really defend well today, and Moyes said as much. No point picking out individuals, the back 4 were not that coherent as a unit and the Sunderland attacks had quite a bit of success in getting behind us today.

We may have had control of possession for the majority of the first 35 mins, but I don't remember a clear cut chance. They had less of the ball but should have been more than one up at half time. They created 3 or 4 chances that I would expect the majority of premier league teams to put away. We've taken the piss out of the sh*te for tika taka but there were times when we seemed to be passing it round on the edge of their box for the sake of it. We also seemed to want to walk it in for some reason. I was glad we mixed it up a bit more after the break. Sunderland do not concede many goals so to score 2 against them when the pressure was on (being behind, clock ticking down) shouldn't be taken for granted.

QUOTE]

I don't mind that, in fact the thing that pleased me was that we had the discipline to keep the ball on the ground and not hoof it
hopefully into the box. We were sloppy at times, but overall we need to keep playing like that. I hope Gerrard was watching!
Looking back over the last five matches, we've actually lead for a total of only about half an hour but haven't lost any of them.
That shows that there's a lot of backbone in the team and I look forward to us having a bit of luck, for a change. Apart from at Wigan, we haven't had much.

Watching the OS highlights, there were some brilliant bits of play from Mirallas that had me fuming that he's injured. The first touch and through ball before the Jelavic pen shout was awesome. I really hope it's just a couple of weeks for him because he is something else.
