Then you've got an incredibly short memory.

No I havnt. I have seen some pitiful performances but that first half in terms of keeping hold of the ball was amazingly bad. Just as well Howard was up for it today.

There was a period of play for about 20 minutes were we couldnt string 2 passes together. It was crap stuff too. Easy passes 5 yards away. I have never seen anything like it it was so frustrating.

There have been games where we have ben battered etc but today in the first half was all of our own making.

Yet we still came away with a draw and a clean sheet. I suppose thats a good thing.

I do remember Ossie getting out-muscled a few times.

Remind me about his outstanding saves today

We have just come out of an eleven year period were we couldn't string two passes together. We were poor first half but I've seen much worse on many many occasions.

Not specific to this game but generally, when you try to establish a passing game, the first 20 minutes are always the most vulnerable as you get a rhythm going. Normally the opposition starts getting dragged slowly out of their own game plan.

The lesson from today is that you cannot establish a passing game without a pressing game of your own. Once we started to put pressure on them, and pressed their defenders and midfield in the second half, we started to get control.

Eh? No we havnt! We played some good stuff in those 11 years to be fair.

There are bad games, Bolton stands out as one for me, Wigan too, but today was just weird. It was like every pass was bad and for no apparent reason. Really stupid basic stuff, like they had all been on the lash the night before.
