How can you say that after we came out and took the second half? Doesn't make sense.

in any case, every team will be 'worked out' eventually. The trick is to do what you do better than before and add new dimensions...which will come in time. Martinez will unpack a bag of tactical tricks as he goes along.

The second half we were better as at times we had that bit of quality that we didn't have first half. However, still we created next to nothing and the mistakes continued because Spurs kept pressing. Any manager watching that will know how to maximise their chances of getting something off us and Spurs have just shown everyone how to stop Everton getting a shot on target in 90 mins at home.

That wasn't particularly aimed at the manager either. It's up to the players to produce when put under pressure. That's what the premier league is about. We were let down by individual performances today. As I said later on in the post, we need to improve and I think that has to happen on the training ground. Martinez does have to get us playing better, that's his job. We know these lads have got it (Baines, Pienaar Mirallas, Barkley) so to be a success this season we need them playing well asap.

But they had no chances to speak of either. Does this mean we've figured them out too?

100% agree. I guess Chelski fans are saying exactly the same thing

Anyone who thinks Pienaar was our best player needs to have a word with themselves. Him and Osman were poor. Great subs from Bob - all positive - all with the intention of winning the game. Overall 6/10.

Crystal Palace might well suffer a backlash from our insipid performance today. And then Liverpool ... thought they were very ordinary as well. Probably 4 points from those games

Downright poor. A better 2nd half but still not very good. Spurs were a very tough nut to crack. Still, will take a point. If we can do what we should next week and beat Palace then it turns into a very handy point.

Does my head in how we have right footed players taking right sided corners and Baines takes the ones on the left.

Get them in swinging ffs.

We do sod all with the ones we get.

What your ignoring in that first paragraph is that spurs are a top top team. Yes they may have showed teams how to try play against us but all but a select few will NOT be able to do it with the same quality at there disposal.

We also will get better at handling teams doing that, just as the likes of Swansea, barca etc have had to get used to it.

They were away from home, in fairness and would have been much happier with a point than we were. They did still managed 6 shots on target and almost twice as many attempts as us. Our centre backs were the only real good performers for us today. But yes, I think both sides knew how to handle each other, defensively and both teams were lacking a bit of quality up top today. Lukaku and Soldado were poor as was the final ball.

never going to win games when Pienaar is awful, Osman is pathetic and Mirallas isn't interested, with them three playing between two defensive midfielders and a single striker.
