if Chelsea win the cup then Wigan get the European slot.

If Chelsea win it and finish fifth Wigan have got the cup spot and Chelsea take the league spot.

It cannot go down to sixth.
 

commentator today ...'Everton have had four very reasonable cases for a penalty. QPR have got to be careful because they must be totting up in the referee's mind and he might just give one'. Arsenal get another late, very debatable penalty. A non partisan site has us eight points ahead of Arsenal and Spurs if all clearly bad decisions are reversed. obviously leads you open to being called naïve and conspiratorial but feel so p*ssed off about it that its spoilt win today and really think we have no chance of finishing fourth for this reason

agree mate they are right jammy ****ers really hope we beat them on tuesday would feel like a derby win getting 3 points over the whinging cockney tossers.
 

Great win. Our domination of the game should have yielded more goals but you can understand the players taking their feet of the gas with the Arsenal game coming up. The crossing from our full backs on from both sides now must be among the best in the league. Good to see Gibbo getting his 2nd goal for us at last albeit a bit fortuitously. Coleman denied a nailed on pen as well.

Oh and bye bye 'Arry.

Maybe Arteta will do decent thing and blast any illegally won penalty high over the bar

No, the Cup spot takes precedence and so the league spot goes to the next team.

You really ought to listen to Brennan on this matter as he spends so mcuh time researching and discussing it that he has become and authority on it. :lol:

would understand why the referee gave it if there had been non stop holding, the likes of which we have seen go unpunished against Fellaini, but for linesman to give such an unclear decision from so far away when both players had bit of a shirt... very dodgy
