Some very good play and positive play also. We have actually had attempts on the goal and scored. More than can be said for our previous league games.

Overall though, now the game has ended, far too much sloppy play imo. Too many balls conceded to the opposition in midfield and lots of sloppy attacking play too. Coleman made some poor decisions. My motm, from the 60 minutes I saw, was James McCarthy. Jags was a rock in defence. It was nice to see Barkley get on the scoresheet after a quality through-ball from Atsu. As i commented in the Dynamo Kiev thread, Lukaku is finally looking like the £28 million player we paid for. It's onwards and upwards now. Please!!!.....

If ever a game showed how much of a massive hindrance Barry and Naismith are to our play, that was it

There was definitely much more space available in the final third that's otherwise filled by Naismith standing in the way, God love him.

Lennon MOTM for me followed by Osman as the passing is generally a lot more quicker with him ticking things over

Osman was wonderful however Newcastle's defending suited him.

Lukaku was great, i thought Kone helped him a lot, Lennon was superb too, great workrate, Atsu played well too when he came on.

Gibson and McCarthy looked great in the middle, and Alcaraz probably had his best game for us today, Jags was solid too. And i think clean will do good for Howard, maybe he will be slightly better in the remaining games. Oh, and a goal will help Barkley rebuild his confidence. Overall i'm very pleased with today.

Now let's progress in the Europa, Dinamo is not that great
