It was the perfect storm of players being off their game and a manager not giving a setup that really gives them a chance to begin with. Disaster and pure luck kept it from being a demolition.

Absolutely gutted.

Disappointed with that from the off. Not sure what we were trying to do. What was the plan?

United were there for the taking and that cup was there to be won.

A miserable night.

Problem is there is too much deadweight in the squad

Tosun - useless
Gomes - useless
Bernard - useless
Delph - crock
Gbamin - crock
Davies - bang average

Simply too many wasters which stops us from being able to rotate and fight on more than one front.

The only player who is any good we have on the bench is Gordon and Carlo hates him.

2 of them didn't play, one of them got about 2 minutes. One a sub who got half an hour and the other 2 played 90 minutes between them.

I don't disagree that they are all crap but maybe we should start pointing fingers at the players who are actually playing the games where we fail to turn up?

Didn't the Wolves manager call out Lee Mason as not good enough to referee at the weekend? I know it brings an automatic disrepute charge but Carlo should do likewise tonight.

Not just the red, not booking the dive that he pointed to in the corner (Telles?), and a spate of minor fouls and handbills ignored.

Doesn't excuse a nothing performance but fed up of refs automatically favouring certain teams every time we play them.

No matter what incentive we have to win, and no matter what players say in the lead up talking about wanting to win trophies, it’s like clockwork that’s how it plays out. Proper cursed club

Simply put:

Nowhere near good enough to challenge for trophies.

A team that will - as per the last few years - beat a big team or two and when not expected, and then cower when they're asked to win against a big club.

We're nowhere near being an elite club again.
Totally agree.

And we never will for many many more years.

The small club mentakity reeks from this godforsaken football club as soon as big stakes arise.

After so much money spent, we still cannot control 20 minutes of a football match.

This club always lets the fans down
Absolute shocking performance
Sick and tired of seeing the same old failures. Tactics and setup I was not surprised but our passing is the worst in the premiership
Simple passing from a to b and these players can’t do it
Rubbish
When we do get it right, we can't even control the ball. There's no pace at all anywhere

United were poor and were there for the taking. Zero squad depth when you look at who we brought in compared to who they brought on.

Bruno Fernandes is a snide, horrible little player who knew exactly what he was doing but we should still be able to at least show some threat when richie isn't on the pitch.

That was abysmal but players to come back , get a result at Sheffield and make strides in the league.

Got what we deserved.

We were absolutely in awe of what is these days a very average Manchester United side.

Woeful passing and decision making.

Still a long way to go with righting the mentality within the squad.

They've better depth than we have. No Digne, Allan, Rodriguez, Richarlison but they've got Pogba, Cavani, VDB etc to rotate
