We're back at Goodison after what seems like an eternity. International break and 2 away games on the trot. 2 not very far away games and a disappointing return to say the least. 2 big away games against 2 of our biggest rival historically speaking. Now for something easier.
Wait a minute. Who's coming? the current champions. The in form team of the moment.
Bring it on.
Well as I say we welcome the champions and something's got to give.
They've won 5 on the run since Shakespeare took over. We've won 6 on the run at home and scored loads of goals.
0-0 it is.
Seriously doubt it.
Fact is they look like the team that shook the world last season.
Schmeichel, Huff, Drinkwater, Mahrez and Vardy seem to back to last year's levels and Ndidi looks like another shrewd piece of business. We'll have to match their work rate if we want to get back into the winning groove. We can't expect anything different from them. They'll keep it tight and hit it long with worrying pace.
So what about the mighty blues. Does Williams start his suspension right away? If so, maybe Koeman will have to play himself. It was good to see Jagielka, Holgate and Joel acquitting themselves so well at OT.
Not sure how we'll line up but the passing and the finishing will have to be sharper than against Utd.
I'd imagine Joel, Holgate, Jags, Williams ?, Baines, Barry, Gana, Davies, Barkley, Mirallas and Lukaku.
Unless Lookman gets a run out I can't see any changes really.
We were sloppy against Utd and better team would have punished us more. It feels really weird typing that but if only on current form it could be reasonably argued that Leicester are a better team than Utd. They don't mess about so we can't.
Get into them blues.
ps. Jarg Brummies.
