Just how did that not go to VAR? If it isn’t a clear and obvious foul don’t blow the whistle and let it play out. You can call it off after!

Guaranteed that if it was City, they would have checked VAR regardless of the whistle and the goal would have obviously been given.

Last season they were letting it go when it was 5+ yards off and this season the polar opposite. Bizarre.

So, on the plus side Dyche has set this squad up to be up 4-0 at the half. The downside is he doesnt have the players to execute that as long as we dont have a striker or wingers. But you certainly cant fault Dyche for this gameplan.

I can absolutely fault him for playing Maupay. The rest he’s gotten spot on.

The difference is, Iwobi is not a striker. His job is to drive into space and take the ball up the pitch, create and pass the ball off. Take a few pops. He’s done all that, unlucky to not do better with the shot he did take. Maupay has one job, to finish the move and score. He’s had plenty of chances and not done it. Take your agenda out of it for a second and it’s clear that Iwobi is having a good game relative to what we need him to do

Nobody is going to convince me that a Calvert Lewin who is not 'fit fit' or a Danjuma who hasn't played a lot in pre season would not be more likely to score than Maupay.

Or even cannon...

Maups has been getting in good positions, his end product is just not good enough.
Iwobi has been brilliant, played some brilliant balls in. Unfortunately nothing came from the end of those balls.

I'd really like to see Dobbin or Danjuma on early. Don't wait until 65th minute and beyond, get them on now or within 10 minutes and let's capitalise on some of these chances.
