But Moyes inherited Gemmill and Radzinski.

Allardyce has England's all time top scorer, a £45m midfielder and the England goalkeeper.

Got to be seen in proper context
I can see where I’ve gone wrong here, and you were generous in not including Mark ‘Pembo’ Pembridge in your reply. Seriously, although he inherited some decent players, they weren’t getting results. He’s got them producing results in very short order, and I’m prepared to give him time to get the actual performances up to scratch before accepting that today is going to be the norm.

Definitely been better in defence for sure.

He's also been dealt a cracking hand with his run of fixtures and no Europe, which exacerbated our form (rather than quality) issues.

End of the season is the real judgement

Just think most are relieved.

I have said before, I am confident that Sam will have us playing decent footie in time.

Definitely relief all round, but for me the true performance indicators for Allardyce are (and have always been for any incoming boss)

- how quickly do we achieve the business imperative of 40 points ( i think 25 games is a par figure)

- what happens after that

And we can only really judge it at the end of the season. Very much what Moyes delivered most seasons (and arguably what Koeman delivered easily last year)

Sam will think he's good enough to manage UTD and bin us off....

I've just checked the table, and we have 26 points from 19 games. I understand your thinking, but I doubt we will get 14 points from our next six games, two of which are against Man United and Tottenham.

Like you, I think we should judge him on his record at the end of the season. Anything around eighth or ninth with about sixty points would be acceptable. If he does better than that, then it would be hard to be critical of the job he's done.

building foundations for future managers to still be working off four and a half seasons on?

I get your point, but stretching it a bit. Coleman, Jags, Baines, Kev, er, Ross, first team squad. Not 100% sure the kids breaking through can be laid at his door. Unless I have missed sommet.

I'm always happy with Everton getting points, just never that we have gone down this apppointment to get them. That's why Allardyce Revisited and people ragging on Everton fans for something they were doing 5 weeks ago will always be a forum low.
I know what you're saying mate. I didn't want him either, and respect anyone who still doesn't want him. But I'm prepared to give him a chance, and credit for what he's doing so far.
