1s team doing well, time to rip the Reserves, ah the Everton way.
Not at all. Look back at my posts in this thread, I think I've been very reasonable and explained how my concerns are valid.

I don't think Moyes is holding them back as such because i've barely seen them play, don't know if the are good enough to play an y kind of role in the first team squad.
But some should be, in our financial position they need to be, its vitally important for us that we can at worst provide squad players ala Hibbert and Anichebe who cost the club nothing but have a useful role to play. Better would be nice but unlikely.
Its the myth that Everton are the club that gives youth a chance which gets me. Sure, over the years some have had game time but those players are getting fewer and fewer, while moyes might of tried to give a chance in the past in recent seasons none of our youth have been given a chance in the first team except through injury crisises.
It could only be good for our young reserve players to get game time in the first team when the chance arrives. But they don't.
Moyes is too cautious and will prefer to use a more experienced player instead of a less experienced player and that cannot help their development.
Maybe they are all way too gash to even get that, maybe Stubbs is a crap coach or maybe there are other reasons.
But our youth aren't getting game time in the first team even if thats 10 mins at the end of games if there is an alternative. And they certainly aren't starting games and being given a chance which they could take with both hands and step up.
Yesterday was a perfect chance for Barkley to get 15 mins. He didn't and we had no other youth even on the bench. Youth didn't even get 15 mins at the end of last season when we were winning 4-0 and resting players which would of been great for them.
Somethings going wrong with our youth players and its not good.
Barkley for example... One day, he may well end up being an absolute star, but at the moment, he's not good enough to be in our team. He's got all the skill and ability required, but currently his "football brain"/decision making is way off being first team standard. Anyone who hasn't seen that when he's played in the 1st team either isn't looking or has some seriously thick blue tinted specs on.
The lad has looked good coming on as an impact sub against tired defenders, but whenever he's started a game, he's looked lost.
What we SHOULD be doing more of is not throwing the players into the first team, but sending them out on loan, to get them used to the pace of first team football, which is a world away from the reserves.
Sorry, I mean *cough*.... "ahhh mate, that Moyles is so negative, he won't give the kids a chance, he just plays his favourites lad"
Your argument that our midfield is so strong he isn't good enough for it is only convincing if you ignore who played more minutes in our midfield last year (john heitinga out of position, phil neville out of position, jamers mcafaden out of posiiton, a tim cahill who was a shadow of his former self, gueye, and anichebe out of posiiton). It's all very well pointing at our current boss midfield and saying no wonder he can't get a game but he also couldn't get a game when we were losing 6 out of 7.
Same with Vellios, is he good enough to start every week now we have jelavic, of course not. But there was a time when he was the only striker in our squad scoring and Moyes persisisted with Saha instead.
Those whole two games with no service at all and the team playing generally awful? It's a good job that Saha never looked simarly lost in any of his starts around that time.
Agree entirely.
Because nobody who has an opinion other than yours has put any thought into it.
Of Junior, known as Cisco to his teammates, Distin added: “The fans might not have seen much of him but we train together every day and see him every day.
“I personally know and feel he has enough quality to play. As you saw (against Morecambe) he loves to get the ball and go forward and dribble past players. He is sharp, has good technique and I think we will see more of him this season.
“We don’t have a big squad so any young guys like that who can come and compete for a place in the team is good for us.â€
