wasnt there a big fuss made that they had a good character reference for Beattie that ‘clinched the deal’ ? … from Gordon Strachan I believe …

The first name that pops to me is Yarmolenko, but the more painful ones were Matheus Nunes, and......Gabriel. Those two sting a lot more.

Recently Kudus was an annoying one to miss. I also think I remember Zirkzee made it as far as 'confirmed signing' on here only to fall through.

The missed transfers of Dion Dublin and Tore Andre Flo put the nail in the coffin of two of our greatest managers.

And that's ironic given that both of those players would have massively improved us. They still had the eye for a player...
