Exactly. Carlo is a champions league manager, and he has stressed about depth many times before. He won’t pull a Koeman and try the same frigging starting 11 every week. He also knows this is the time to see who is worthy of being at the club.
I think he knows that already from last season. Hence 3 midfielders brought to the club. Wouldn’t be surprised if another CB (with pace) and RB were brought in before the window closes.

Think he’ll go with something like this:
Lossl
Kenny Keane Braithwaite Neils
Siguardisson Davies Gordon
Walcott Kean Iwobi or Bernard
If that team can’t beat league 2 standard at home, we don’t deserve to be in it.
They should be fighting for a spot in a team that has ambitions to compete. If they cannot beat a team like Salford, then they should never have the privelage of wearing the shirt again.

Take the holy trinity out against Salford and play Davies Sigurdsson and what other sludge we have knocking about the back corridors of finch farm.

Leave James on the bench incase we are losing and bring him on as an emergency on 85 mins for a quickfire hatrick to secure our status in the competition and go forth to the next stage.

WHERE CAN EVERTON IMPROVE?
Special guest Tim Cahill told Sky Sports:
"With Everton, they've now got a good base and a foundation in the area that was needed which is the midfield. When you look at the additions, the likes of Tom Davies can learn a lot. Last season was tough to watch as it was very passive.
"Davies will see the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure as box to box. It's now about accountability for 90 minutes. I would like to still see some additions in defence and in attack. Another striker would be good as you can never have enough depth with the schedule this season. I'm sure with their purse strings, Everton can make it happen."

Get Bolasie and Besic in too for a laugh. Besic and Davies manning the midfield - they would be up against their own level in all fairness! Still, whatever team we send out, absolutely no excuses not to comfortably win. The players must be told they are fighting for their future, whether it's with us or putting their name in the shop window. If that doesn't motivate them then nothing will.

Team started to unravel when Siggy came on! Shows how thin we still are!
Actually did as well. He had a horror 90 seconds that made me laugh where he just did a few stupid things, let players waltz past him, etc. Thankfully we saw today the difference between the likes of him and Davies and actual good midfield players. It's like night and day.

Have to hope Brands can push the deadwood out now.

Really need a top right back to come in, or even a young attacking RB to alternate in/out. Also Tomori would be good so we can play a high line against lower table teams.

The midfield is class and looks like;

Doucoure / Onyango
Allan / Gbamin

Could be the future rotation. But for this season weve got a quality of depth which isnt good enough.

Have to move on players pronto to free up space, 3 weeks for Brands to hit the ejection button on a few

If we are short of money, a top class utility player who could play CB, RB and holding mid would be good. We can’t have Siggurdson being the first reserve midfielder as he almost cost us the game yesterday. Need someone with legs who can give Doucoure and Allan a rest. Hopefully Gbamin can do that when fit, or Delph, but a young prospect on loan who could cover all three positions would be ideal.
