He would probably be OK in Holland and a club like PSV would not pay anything like £20m for him. I would rather we buy someone with more experience than him. My worry is that he will probably come in and be 4th choice and not be good enough to challenge for a place, therefore he wont really play and we will end up selling him for a lot less than we paid in 18 months time

...my concern watching him is he didn’t look like a defender who loved to defend.

I like defenders who die for the cause. Mohammed Salisu who we’ve been linked with (sadly he’s on the verge of joining Southampton) looks that type as does Gabriel to a certain extent.

Its a benchmark for my Centre Backs.

...and I don’t really get ‘he can play in 3 positions’. I just want somebody who is a really good and commanding CB.

Signing versatile players has been part of our problem.
They are adequate in a few positions without excelling in any.

I don't see us doing much of anything until the season is actually finished, to be fair.

Sensible reply. Let's this fiasco of a season finished and them concentrate on transfers.

I think there may be a lot of business done early by clubs in general as there are no international distractions this summer.

I'm sure lots of people more knowledgeable than me will know, but maybe their points deduction for going into Administration doesn't yet show in the table.
