Iwobi £22.4mil
Walcott £4mil
Tosun £7.2mil
Delph £5.4mil
Bolasie £4.6mil
Sigurdsson £16.8mil

=£60.4 book value

As much as i dont like the player i think we offer Palace a 6 for 1 deal for Zaha.

Better to have him in the squad than all of them + we clear out the deadwood.

Never know, Palace may go for it...

Wed clear off huge amount of wages + FFP would be sorted.

Also i think all of those players would go for the move.

Can someone have a word with Hodgson @Alan Whittle lol
There is 600k a week in wages there Zatmania.

Good luck Palace.

That's depressing

Certain players will take lower wages for longer contracts + Palace would probably want some of them + i think they would all want to go there.

We can also subsidise some for 12-24months.

Stick Zaha on £150k and weve saved £450k a week and got round FFP with £60mil incoming / £60mil outgoing...

But the £60mil incoming and the wages mean we can rebuild the side.

Im quite scared that you appear serious, please tell me you dont think this could happen?

Rebuild the side with more of that free money you think FFP gives us?

Stop thinking that making FFP profit means the business gets rich.

Its an accounting trick, its not money into the business.

Hi Goat, clearly i was in jest but needless to say you dont know what youre talking about re: FFP or the finances in or coming into the club.

Neither do 99.9% of posters here.

Its quite simple, we just sell some of the deadwood for what we paid for them, seeing as we didnt buy them well so we wont make a profit even with a few years of inflation.

Just sell:

Keane 25 million
Siggy 45 million
Bolasie 26 million
Tosun 20 million
Walcott 20 million

Easy 136 million to spend on 4-5 positions, I dont know why this is hard.

I know youre kidding but the book values of these guys are roughly:

Keane £10mil
Sigurdsson £16.8mil
Bolasie £4.6mil
Tosun £7.2mil
Walcott £4mil

I think... £42.6mil

So if we can make that back across all 5 we'll be straight.

Think most of us would agree midfield, we'd pretty much be happy to ship the lot out bar Gordon.

However, this is gonna be impossible.

One thing our midfield is and the squad in general is they're too nice, theres not enough snides, bastards, players who hate losing, whatever you wanna call it.

A squad of nice guys, but ultimately just that nice guys.

Think based on the games since the return I'd do thus.

Gomes - keep in the hope his form is due to the injury.

Sigurdsson - sell, too slow big wages. Garbage.

Davies - either loan out or keep if Delph cant prove his fitness.

Delph - see above, think either him or Tom need to go.

Gbamin - can't judge, injured wont be going anywhere

Bernard - nice guy, but too soft, easily bullied. Can make an easy profit on him abroad, sell.

Iwobi - I think he's garbage, but he's in his 1st season which has been stop start and we need two players in each position so stays to compete with Gordon for the left. I'd sell but like I say don't see us being able to flip an entire midfield.

Gordon - keep.

Walcott, - keep as back up to a new right midfielder.

So two new centres mids in. Sell sigurdsson and move on either Delph or Davies.

Sell Bernard and get a new right midfield/winger in.

Zat , I enjoy your posts and knowledge but this one , even for you, is way out there.

I know that Roy is knocking on a bit and he sometimes comes up with strange decisions but as far as I am aware he doesn't suffer from senile dementia.

Glad he’s got me of ignore now so he can’t feel the abuse I’d give him over this post.

2 Centre midfield players are a must. We have no pace or power in that position and no depth in the squad. One Centre back needed too. There are obviously issues all over the pitch, but these positions must be sorted first.
This all over , we have areas that we need to upgrade that will add 1 or 2% improvement. But without getting some physicality, pace strength and creativity into centre midfield we cant progress. Gomez and sigurdson are not the answer, in fact I am struggling to find the question that they could be the answer for. Shearer last night saying that we need to strengthen our strikers was a little bit missing the big point.
