I don’t think he’s the player we need backing up Calvert Lewin.
And we will do them again in January and again in June and, well, you know the rest, every window till he retires.
Not necessarily a big number 9. Can be a more versatile forward. Signing someone who can get us double figure goals this year would be a big asset.
James will not play every game. He will occasionally play in the 3. We will get injuries, we will need to rotate come the heart of the winter. We need an option so may as well get a good one. I reckon players would like to come here right now. We can definitely challenge the top 6.
If everything goes well that player wont be playing many games tho.
Sure if everything goes tits up he plays.
But have we not learnt from Kean?
I'm genuinely ok with that. Hes a 10 a season forward in this league and a big upgrade on Kean.
There's better out there of course but its absolutely not a bad option.

We aren't spending big bucks on someone to rotate with those that will start on the bench.
100% isn't happening tomorrow.
If you told me we were selling DCL and buying Josh King I would cry.
But as a squad option, for 18m, I think he would be decent.
Kean is just too young to contribute right now. I would have persevered with him but if we can get someone who is ready to help right now then it makes sense
His contract is up next Summer and he's in the Championship - no way we'd spend £18m.
