Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

the reported chain that's holding up potential transfers for Allan & Gabriel seems to be very frustrating perhaps we should move on to other targets? Whatever happens it seems very unlikely now that we will be able to sign both of them but slightly more chance of Allan.

If he gets 15 starts next year then it shows how shocking our transfer business is.
He done well as cover but he should be out on loan getting experience, as a CB game time and experience is vital.

Or it could show what a good player he is and making rapid progress.
Don't remember anyone saying Liverpool were doing shocking transfer business when Alexander Arnold was playing and they're a good team while we're terrible

There's some truth in that, but it's worth pointing out that he's also created problems himself. If FFP was such an issue and we needed to wait until 2022 before we could do anything, we could quite easily have maintained a midtable position without splashing the cash. We could have used the likes of Lookman, Vlasic, Dowell, Kenny, Robinson etc. Tosun, McCarthy and the like are good enough to have you finishing in 12th, so why have we gone out and spent a fortune on new players who haven't moved us up the league? You can't go out and pay Mina and Bernard a reported £250k week between them and then complain that we've got no room on the wage bill.

Brands hasn't been a disaster, and in time he might turn out to be a genius, but looking at what he's done so far doesn't make for good reading really. Most people thought Koeman/Allardyce and Walsh needed sacking because 7th and 8th wasn't good enough. Now we've finished 12th and people are saying that's a good result with this set of players, of which Brands has signed about a dozen. It's a long term job so we'll see whether things come together in time, but he needs a good window this summer or he may find he doesn't get to stay around to find out.
Up until the restart Carlo had this bunch of players top or very near the top of the form chart for a while.
Thats the same bunch of players that make no mistake were relegation candidates under Silva.
Things could have been much different if Gomes hadnt lost a leg , Gbamin didnt suffer 2/3 horrendous injuries and Delph could have kept fit.
With Carlo at the helm , a fully fit squad plus the managers new additions this team should crack on.
Its only then we will see the value of Brands transfer dealings.

Sky Sports with the rumour apparently

Probably not worth it's own thread

How reliable is Toffee Web normally on stuff like this?

Just regurgitating a rumour from last night
