You won’t see the team win at any of the teams grounds that regularly finish above you, and as for the neighbours - who only came to be because of a historical disagreement over ground rent at the ground you won the league in first - they will regularly fluke their way to many successes and do have the Ying script to your Yang in terms of general luck, success and spin.
You’ll not get used to that feeling of “what the actual [Poor language removed] - is this a huge set up at my expense?”, either. It’s not personal it’s not a curse, it’s just what being an Evertonian is for - the biggest burdens are given to those that can carry them, and in footballing terms, you’ll be carrying the equivalent of a black hole’s worth of hopes and dreams on your back game after game, as the Everton mentality continues to come into play, and the hope seeps out of you yet again.
But honestly it’s worth it, if not for the Everton twitter fume alone, and the failed Stadium moves, no news providing, soap opera saga, which will just allow you to be reminded on all non match day days exactly how disappointing it is to be a blue and see non-progression in footballing terms on a weekly basis.
