Everton Summer transfers 2021

As much as I think Brands/the board are fairly inept, this window could have been a whole lot worse. It could have been the window that put us into administration.

Ashley Williams. Bolasie. Sigurdssen…. That’s what you call a bad window. Buying 2nd rate over the hill players with no sell on value, and not only that, but paying massively over the odds for them and ridiculous wages. Sandro, Klaasen, Keane, Delph, Tosun…,, every club makes bad buys, but I can’t think of another club who’s made as many as us?

I can’t think of another club that has so many higher earners who don’t even feature in the starting 11?

So yes, it’s a disappointing window, but we’ll survive. I actually think we could still challenge for top 6. And come next summer we’ll be free of a few more old mistakes.

-Loan out back up left back
-Don't bring a right back to back up Coleman
- Small gone for nothing
-Baningime gone for nothing
-Kean loaned out for 2 years with money dripping in over 3 years. (Meanwhile Tammy Abraham goes for 34 mil)

Good times. We genuinely seem incompetent sometimes.
I can’t disagree with the other bulletin points but…

tcanr complain about Kean comparing to Abraham. Firstly we’ve made some money on Kean. Whether the money comes in all at once or over two years doesn’t matter. Kean did nothing for Everton FC except cause problems. Abraham won the CL last year and although he plays for a plastic club, they’re bigger and he’s done more in his career. He was always going to have to suitors.
Plenty to Moan about with Everton this window but Kean deal isn’t one

The biggest surprise of yesterday is that apart from not signing a RB we apparently failed in an attempt to take Donny Van de Beek on loan. Player wanted the move , but Solsjaer blocked it.

If Kean goes and we can buy the RB and midfielder with Richy staying that will be fine for a mid-table finish.

Next season we get all the rubbish out (Sigurdsson, Tosun, Delph) we sell Richarlison, and hopefully buy well, Europe is achievable.
I know I'm vaulting myself (apologies), but I think this is what we are doing this season.

Unfortunately, we did not buy the RB and the central midfielder, but we are doing a reset, and a season or two of pain is the price we will have to pay for having the money and wasting it.

Maybe Rafael works miracles we end higher than my mid to lower table prediction.

Wouldn't it be fun to see Rondon snap Salah?

Let's enjoy this season; it's been ok so far.

Yeah, was a bit surprised at this one. Can see him or Lingard getting too many minutes at united. Sky were saying last night that Solskjaer has spent £441 million since he got the job. United now have a lot of players who won’t get games time on huge money. It needs to happen for them this season.

You can spin it anyway you want, end of the day we’ve spent 2m quid. What sort of a half baked, non ambitious joke of a club thinks that’s adequate to build on a tenth placed finish?

they should fire brands out of a cannon in the direction of the North Sea. Complete incompetence. God knows what he actually does or what his strategy looks like.

the right back glaring weakness which he has failed to address over three years is staggering.

Juventus just received $15 million euros for Ronaldo. $23 million if various terms are met i have read.

I am more annoyed at the way we can't seem to sell players. We have a backwards way of doing things. We potentially had a bit of leverage with Kean going back there as they had to find a replacement within a short period of time.

I understand we have received some money for him through loan fees but when we are skint like we are now we should at least be managing the assets that we do have a bit better imo.

Reminds me of when I used to get paid by the month and would live like a king for 2 weeks and a hobo the last two. Mosh going from spending silly money to an amount that would make David Moyes furious. In 2004! Obviously not good at managing money. All that 'he's no fool, no billionaire is thick. I dono I think sometimes circumstances happen for some people right time right place etc. Doesn't make sense otherwise.

….an ambitious club that is building a state of the art stadium at BMD. A club who’ve wasted millions on poor signings who now have to get their finances in order.

I said when Benitez came in that it was a ‘safe‘ appointment, I think this has also been a ‘safe‘ transfer window. No more expensive failures.

Bottom line is, are we stronger after the summer window than before it? Arguably we are; The glaring lack of wingers has been addressed & Rondon is a more effective back-up than Kean or King.

Yes it’s underwhelming we have no high-profile signings, there are positions we might have strengthened but it’s not to say we are weaker than last season. January isn’t too far away & I feel ok about things.

It's not just the waste of money it's not being able to sell even a young Italian international like Kean for a decent profit that means we don't have enough funds to do everything. Other clubs seem able to shift reserves for twenty or thirty million. Poor.
