No, but the money to pay for either assets or liabilities needs to come from the same pot. If we know we have future financial outlays that has to be taken into account in current spending. It seems for the first time that realisation has hit Farhad.

Again, if the money can be shown to be for stadium, youth development or infrastructure it's not included by UEFA or PL.

In order to promote investment in stadiums, training facilities, youth development and women’s football (from 2015), all such costs are excluded from the break-even calculation.

The club could spend £700m on the new stadium and have that as a loss on the accounts it still wouldn't be included.

I can sort of understand if we can’t get the players we want for the right price. What I can’t get is how we’ve actually weakened the squad in certain areas! We’re looking extremely weak for both full back slots.

If we’re paying Rondon more than 35k a week it’s a disgrace. For the whole of Brands tenure we have needed a right back. New manager comes in every year and has his own pets he wants to sign, he gives Brands. List and say make it so.

Unfortunately, by the time Brands has spent all the dosh bringing in the new managers favourites there is no money for the right back. Rinse and repeat every 12 to 18 months when we tend to sack our manager and bring in the next one.

Brands is supposed to be there so that this doesn’t happen, a DOF is supposed to ensure balance and structure in the playing staff so that when, inevitably, our manager is sacked, we keep some continuity in the playing staff.
