Everton Summer transfers 2021

I don't want us signing a single player from a relegated team ever again. Unless their name is Harry Kane or Jack Grealish I'd rather we didn't sign a player from another PL team this summer.
It entirely depends on the player.
I would not want us signing cast offs from clubs around and above us.
There will be some deals to be had from players at other PL clubs, but it depends on the individual. Signings from abroad are just as fraught - Look at Kean.

Any players on the out of contract list that you`d take?

Eric Garcia at City, just 20
Marco Paulo, winger just 20 from Fluminese
Gianluigi Donnarumma, 22
Emerson Royal, 22
Memphis Depay, 27, but looks like he is heading to Barca
Hakan Calhanoglu, 27
Elseid Hysaj, 27 from Napoli
David Alaba, 28, would probably go to a CL side
Lucs Vazquez, 29
Nikola Maksimovic, 29
Garcia is signing for Barca
Donnarumma lined up to go to Juve apparently
Emerson returning to Barcelona (some sort of co-ownership deal with Betis over the last 2 years which expires this summer)
Depay heading to Barca
Alaba going to Real Madrid

No idea about the rest of them

Mina is better IMO. And
Is better on the ball,
Keane can ping a few cracking long balls,
But he will give the ball away cheaply at times.

This is a different issue, but you look at the 10
Outfield players tonight. I’d say 6/7 aren’t great on the ball. The CB’s,
Coleman,
Doucoure is so poor on the ball. Allan is better but not brilliant. And then you have the front 2.
Who both give the ball away so easily at times.

we can’t control any game. And
Wolves who are pretty average, had 60% possession, that’s awful.

Complete agree with 2nd/3rd barring Allan. Allan is very tidy player if he has some actual footballers round him. Doucoure, yep dont think hes great on the ball, but he does keep it simple and keep it moving which in some games is perfect, particualrly if we had other creative players. Allan isn't scared to try a key pass through, he just doesn't get much opportunity to do it as of how we play / who is around him. A pacey winger, and another creative #10 style would make a world of difference I think.

First paragraph, Mina is no better for me. Amount of clearances Mina doesn't properly clear frustrates me.

As I've said previously its personal preference between the two for me, Mina is probably a bit more athletic/stronger but Keane is naturally a better defender. I dont think either is the long-term choice if we want to start actually doing something meaningful.

Doucoure would be sound in a 3 man midfield where he's given licence to join the attack - he isn't what you'd call silky on the ball, but in that role (provided we added someone in midfield with a combination of athleticism and who's comfortable with the ball) he'd be sound as his powerful running from midfield is difficult to deal with in the right set up. As one of a holding pair, he's limited. If we were playing a 4231 Doucoure wouldn't be in my team in an ideal world. In a 433 he absolutely would.

I expect Mina is off this summer - there's been no noises at all about extending his contract and he has 2 years left this summer, so now would be the time to do it. Keane signed a new deal not long ago, so I think the writing is on the wall for Mina. He hasn't been a disaster of a signing though. Been alright, at times very good but had his share of injuries and, whilst a generally good defender who's decent on the ball, I've weirdly never felt all that comfortable with him. Maybe just my reaction to his ungainly manner.

Yes maybe a bit harsh on Allan, who I rate highly. Just wasted in the 6 role. And you can’t have Doucoure Playing a defensive role. He needs to be pressing the opposition in their half and driving into the box.

I think the issue with the centre backs and Coleman. Is they either they dont trust their own ability to play those tight passes through the lines that can’t take out the other teams midfield out. Or they dont trust Our advanced players to take the ball when marked. It’s always safe passes most of the time. Abs they still manage to give it away.

It depends on what Carlo wants us to be going forward. Counter attacking or a more possession based team. Either way 5/6 players need to come in.

I said on Twitter last night, these 11 would win the championship, but we’d probably have 50% possession throughout the season. This team isn’t capable of keeping possession

Most problems stem back to the midfield for me. All comes down to if we could actually control a game, defenders wouldn't be constantly under pressure. Attackers would have more time, more space, less panic on the ball as they're constantly having to think 'keep it, then attack' rather than being able to focus onr recieving a pass and putting defenders on the back foot. (Richarlison is good for this but he's so isolated most of the time). NONE of us want 70% possession for possession's sake. We want possession to control a game and be a threat. If we had 55% regularly that would give us better results.

We could swap the back four for a top back four and still have the same issues in midfield. 1 real quality ball player in the middle would give us a real boost, that's the reason we won't have Europe next season for me.

Obviously RB needs looking at as well, but sorting the midfield will make a huge difference.

Jesus, of course i dont know if this is how it will go!

I see us needing at least 4 or 5 players.
I see doing that being harder than most think.
I see us getting close to the end of the window and it not going to how 'we' hoped it would.
I see then in hindsight 'us' looking back at what we couldve done differently/earlier.

Its my overly simplified answer after a few back and forth posts as to why imo a loan for Gilmour (if we cant persuade Chelsea to sell him) is a decent idea.

If you're looking for someone to tell you exactly how this summers transfer window will go with certainty I'd suggest you're wasting your time on here

but you can’t presume anything as such mate ask yourself why is Carlo here? Why does he know he needs new players?

usmanov got him here And sold Everton to him and now it’s time for Carlo to start building his OWN team

It will be interesting to see which way we go this summer

Is Carlo thinking of playing a back 3 next season? Because again for me we would need a top class CB who can pass the ball.

Yes the midfield still needs work. A RB 100% needs bringing in.

But I also think Richarlison & DCL have been poor at keeping the ball. And another attacker or two who have different skill sets need adding to this team/squad

If we’ve only brought 2/3 players in and are scrambling around on deadline day for a couple of loans, then next season could end badly. We need 5/6 starters IMO. And i include a starter as a player who can influence off the bench abs is capable of staying in the team and putting Richarlison or DCL on the bench for 10 games.

It was me saying going for Gilmore isn’t a good idea IMO. I think he would mainly sit in our bench. I don’t think Carlo is going to use a 19yr old week in week out, that’s got 11 games under his belt. I think we will buy a midfielder, but he will have experience IMO.

I saw Coleman after the game with another hand wringing interview talking about how the fans are right to be angry.

Nice lad like, but it's an utter pisstake.

The owner's a meddling nerd
The CEO is a glorified chugger
The DoF is a hologram
The Manager is on one last pay day pisstake
The playmaker he brought in declares himself fit to play whenever the 'kin hell he feels like

A midden of a club.

And now the final insult: put into the Euro Conference bin.
The shirt is nice though.
Isn't it?

I hear you, and dont disagree, but i just see trying to sign 5/6 starters as near impossible.
And even if we could how long does it take to get it all working together.
This is a big summer for both the club and Carlo, and pressure will be ramped up if we get to Christmas and performances are still disjointed as we're trying to blend 5/6 new players into the side.
Imo i would be happy getting another 3 starters of Carlo's choice in and padding it out with 2 younger players that we can use and develop.

Keanes at peak value / Mina only 2 years left and injury prone.

Godfrey and Holgate for me with Branthwaite 4th choice and a new centre back signed.

If Mina wasnt injured so much then i think he'd be one of the best in the league.

How can someone so huge get so many injuries lol
we aint selling keane lol peak value is not the way at looking at things, peak plauers at there peal is what we want the club.
