Does anyone actually want Rondon.. or is it just we don’t have a backup striker the real issue.. will do what we did last year and Richy will play striker as we can fill the winger gaps.

I would rather get no one than the wrong player. What was the point of King?
This is clearly a Benitez signing, so I assume Benitez won’t hesitate to give Rondon game time. I think it will be used to rest Dominic Calvert Lewin from time to time. Last 15 to 20 minutes of games. I don’t think it will be at all like King, where Ancelotti chose not to use hIm when there were many instances where he could have made a difference.

You'd hope our scouting team could find someone better than him to be our back-up striker, no doubt about that. However he's worked with Benitez before (much like Townsend), and that suggests he's got a good work ethic and that the manager rates him. Therefore I don't think it's the disaster it's being touted by some. It's just sensible business, much like the Townsend and Gray deals look to be.
