Rafael Benitez says Everton fans understand the "difficulties" the club are facing in the transfer market because of financial fair play regulations.

Tottenham have agreed a £14.5million deal plus add-ons with Metz for midfielder Pape Sarr. The 18-year-old Senegal international will stay with the French side on loan for the season. Young goalkeeper Joao Virginia is headed to Portugal on loan for the season. Unconfirmed reports say that Sporting Club de Portugal (aka Sporting Lisbon) will cover half of his unconfirmed £10,000-per-week contract, and will also have a deal to buy the player outright for £3 million at the end of the season should they choose to do so. Southampton have confirmed the signing of former Everton youngster Thierry Small
The club announced on their official website that the 17-year-old left-back had joined the club after Small cancelled his scholarship with Everton.
West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing CSKA Moscow and former Everton winger Nikola Vlasic.
That's according to the Guardian, who are reporting that David Moyes is eyeing the 23-year-old as an alternative to Jesse Lingard.
Everton sold Vlasic to CSKA in 2019 for £14m after spending the previous season on loan with the Russian outfit and have been linked with a move for the winger in recent weeks.
