Everton Summer transfers 2021

Are you the CFO at Everton, if not it is a guess.
It’s a well informed guess however given the figures are freely available and Benitez actually said as much on his appointment.
We are perilously close to breaching PL financial rules, that is an inarguable fact.
It seems we have been here many times before over the last few decades with the club forewarning fans that we won’t be spending big and people ignoring the information only to be disappointed when the window closes.
Only difference is that this time it isn’t that we lack financial backing it’s just that we are prevented from accessing it due to previous poor judgment.

How can adding wages of 3 Premier League players to the club help with FFP? IMO we`ve added another c£100k a week in wages and spent £2m on Damarai Gray. No such thing as `Free`, they will have been paid a transfer fee but not clear how much but I would think you could add another £1m-£2m...

If we get no one else this window it will have to go down as a massive failure and some positions not addressed YET AGAIN!

Mate I think you need a pair of glasses!

One of the biggest issues we had last year was nothing on the bench that could make a difference, at one stage 2 goalkeepers, 4 youth players and Iwobi

This has been addressed with a lad whom we were looking at before he went to Leicester for 12 million, a reserve goalie and someone who can make a difference/impact against tired legs with 30 minutes to go.

We are breaking premier rules at the moment, that's why there has been no major in, plus if we do get fined unlike the other clubs we will get a 20 point deduction plus we will only be able to sign under 12's, as we are Everton (for example of this see Naisse and the diving ban, that no other club suffered)

We still have a month to get in players, but we are making sure everyone knows we are skint, thus hopefully getting the deal we want

Lighten up bud!

Why can't we just tell FFP to do one and roll the dice on the punishment what's the worst that can happen ? It's not like those 6 clubs who literally tried to destroy competitive football in England had anything bad happen to them, breaking FFP is nothing in comparison

As it stands, the squad is desperate for:

RB (starter)
W (starter)

Then depending on what else happens, we may also need to sign more:

ST (backup) if we sell Moise Kean
AM (starter) if we sell James Rodriguez
W (starter) if we sell Richarlison

That is a potential of 5 incomings needed, before looking at other “minor surgery” which needs doing to the squad:

CM (starter) to replace Andre Gomes
CB (starter) to replace Yerry Mina

For this reason, I can see us only selling one of Richarlison / James / Kean, simply due to how difficult it would be to find replacements. Even in that scenario, we’d still need 3 players in as a minimum.

We'll be getting 350k-400k a week out of contract for a start.

Come Autumn/Winter the BMD naming rights deal will be in pay from USM which will likely be anywhere from £20-30 million per year which will count as revenue which reduces our FFP defecit

We'll also likely see Richarlison leave if not DCL for large money and potentially a decent fee for Kean if he doesn't go this season.

This is the summer where we are paying for the last 5 years of pishing money away - next summer we'll be okay on the transfer front.

Glad to read "next summer we'll be okay on the transfer front" after selling DCL, Richarlison and Kean.

Fabulous...

A lot of assumptions there.
Naming rights deal could be earmarked toward stadium costs.
Maybe thats the reason Mosh is funding phase 1 of the build.

Nobody outside of that circle nows.
And next summer wont be any different than this or any other.
One thing Moshirir cant be accused of is not supplying funds for the manager.

7th highest wages in the league

3rd highest net spend of £55mil a season while hundreds of millions behind top 4 squad value.

Hardly earth shattering investment in the squad.

Lad’s a baller. Very skilful and you can see why we’d be interested having arguably the best header’ of a ball in the league. Benitez said early doors that we have an excellent striker, and the plan is to get service in to him. He’s not sexy enough for some, but he’s a very talented young player.

Shouldn’t be blinded by numbers either. Not many would have stand out stats playing in that Burnley side and aiming crosses at Chris Wood.

He'd be an ideal rotation option for James.

Who went to Leicester for £12mil? All i could think of was Gray £3.7mil from Birmingham...€2mil to Leverkusen and €2mil to everton...

£7.1mil in total fees for a multi team flop....is.that who you meant for £12mil?

Also, you strengthen the bench by signing 1st eleven starters...then the players they replace drop to the bench.

You certainly dont strengthen it by adding players who dont provide competition to the first 11.

Replace Mina? Ok troglodyte let's keep big fat Keane clogging up our defence
