I don't think it would ever be that easy. Utd have a reputation as being difficult to negotiate with. Second only to Spurs.

Later in the window for a player United have no use for will see a lower fee.

Weirdly it goes two ways, inflated fees for those players of use, or for those with little use and the buying team not desperate it can lower.
