Plus the added factor of chemistry between players.

I don't for example ever think Richy 'improved' players around him like Digne/Mykolenko, DCL or whoever played LCM

Say the way Baines/Pienaar improved each other or Son/Kane improve each other etc.

I do think Tarkowski improves the entire defence around him through organization, leadership etc.

Re Tarkowski I agree. I actually think we would see a different and better Keane with him (a bit like with Zouma).

Richarlison seemed to work well with Bernard, but you're not right, not many others.

I think DCL will really help Mykolenko and Patterson. You know you can hit the bi line and hit an area. He certainly helped Digne.

Vault me if I'm wrong or close my account t come September 2nd

We will not spend hardly anything
And will be lucky to get a loan out of most prem teams

That's from a very very well established agent who has had several high profile clients at the club during moshiris reign he is also blue who I trust and is deeply worried from what he knows and hears on that level he works and wheel and deals

The club may well find themselves black balled ny other clubs due to ffp flirtations and other clubs fuming at the lack of punishment
Answer is simple. Shop abroad then instead of paying for overpriced tat from other PL clubs like we usually do, who are going to have our pants down even more so than they have before.

Problem being our scouting team seems to be just moshiri watching MOTD, so I have no faith in us picking up any gems from abroad anyway.

In comparison to the players you mentioned but in the wider view Richarlison’s goals/assists are not fantastic.
Richarlison has scored more than 10 goals in all competitions in all of his 4 seasons with us..it very much depends of which Calvert Lewin will we see next season: the 15 goals a season striker or the one of last season who looked a different person

I get that. But for me a regular in the Brazil team in that position should provide more. Anyway, I think the real DCL will turn up next season

I recall reading somewhere that European clubs are more strict with regards payments.

Like Premier League clubs can "afford" to do the deal over 2-3 years, but teams in Europe normally demand a bigger initial payment and normally only do 1-2 years.

Not sure where I read it or whether its true.

I always thought it was the opposite.

Ultimately, this is the question, isn’t it?

But would Tarkowski have saved us more than 10 of the goals we conceded last season? That’s what would be needed for a net gain over Richarlison.

Personally, I’m not so sure - but I certainly think it’s worth the debate.

More plausible, come the end of the window, might be Tarkowski + Richarlison’s replacement > Richarlison.

If Richie’s replacement gets 6 goals next season, and Tarkowski reduces our goals against by 5, then we’re ahead.
A good logical way of looking at it.

Judging by the chart below, there is an argument we may have conceded less in set pieces alone with Tarkowski in the team.

As an example, the difference between us and Burnley was more than Richarlison scored. Not an exact science I know, but an indicator to suggest that maybe we could be better off by strengthening with Tarkowski compared to losing Richarlison.....

Josh cullen .. Rep Of Ireland midfielder going to Burnley for 3 million. He’s too good for championship and will be in team of the year at end of season . 3 million ? Again do we have scouts or are we like many on here just playing soccer manager
Kompany knows him from Anderlecht. A logical move for him.

Those numbers are shocking :( No wonder we struggle

I'm irish but I'm not sure any irish player would improve us. Knight maybe as a squad player.
Nathan Collins possibly too but too expensive now . I don't see Cullen as a premier league player anyway.

Massive jump from Belgian League to Prem. And I'm not overly sad we didn't scout him. Or if we did I'm glad we've not signed him.
