Everton scouting in this city.........

Maybe Everton act in a more professional manner? - Any scout who goes out of his/her way to show that they are a scout would be completely up their own arse.

I agree with that. A friend of mine's son plays for a junior team in Widnes. I dont really bother to go with him but did one saturday morning. Anyway cutting a long story short. There was this young un on his lads side that was was taking the piss as a forward and was ripping the other team to pieces. There was parents watching as they do and at the end of the game this guy dressed in jeans and a sweater aproached the kids father. Turns out he was from Tranmere. Ok so Tranmere arent glamourous but if it was your lad you'd be made up. A scout aint gonna wear trackies because once parents get wind of who he is some of them will start hawking their own kids and he wouldnt be able to do the job he'd gone there for in the first place.

i was picked up by tranmere and my brother was spotted by liverpool. i was 12 he was 15. only reason i got spotted was because ronny goodlas had a friend from rovers come over to his footy school's in the mid 90's. why didn't ronny goodlas have his friend from everton come over? but my brother was picked up playing sunday league on the jeff humble fields (LBA). kids where getting picked up by liverpool all the time back then. where the [Poor language removed] were everton when fowler, gerrard, carragher, mcmannaman, rush etc etc when the [Poor language removed] got them.

good point, and even though he wasn't in the city we might as well add owen to the list. he's the son of a former everton player, and was a boyhood evertonian, if liverpool were able to spot him theres no reason we shouldn't have had a presence. it seems likely that terry would have probably been in contact with the club at some point about his son, so i also wonder about him, where the [Poor language removed] were we.

I do think the point Malley is making is pretty valid.

Are we an underground footballing collective??

No were a football club. How much do you think that kind of scenario helps a teams image? Theres RS scouts here, lets get noticed...or there might be Everton scouts here, Whatever.

I'd go as far as to say our youth system is working, but not for us. It could have been completely different for us if we could have held on to the above mentioned RS, and not just relied on buying back the players we let go of in the first place, and who still havent convinced us they are worth a regular start anyway.

Can anyone do a starting eleven of our lost youth?
