Davies and Gomes is just a slow combination and we have seen it before add James in and we were dominated last night in there. Davies was fine at his job but we badly missed Doucoure for his energy, he was immense in the return fixture. Digne on the left wing made us look unbalanced in the second half for me too.
We were always going to be dominated - we literally had no other option other than playing a CB, already playing out of position, into midfield. Leicester are a very good team with a very good midfield.
Our issue in the second half came from our forward players failing to hold onto the ball. I include Rich, DCL in that and James couldn't get into the game.
We are where we are with the squad. That doesn't reflect well on the people responsible for building said squad but it is what it is. Davies - I'm no massive fan of him - but he's been doing a job there and like it or not, we've lost one league game since Allan went out of the side, so he can't have been doing that badly.
Doucoure a big plus against Newcastle. And I'm sure we'll be looking for another midfielder in the summer.
