Nuamah staying at Lyon according to big Alan Myers.

Good. Just feels like the kind of signing we should avoid based on past experience. Not a starter for their current club, an attacking player with no goals or assists this season. Pacy, yes, but what does that count for if there is no end product. Would much rather a Fellows kind of signing at this stage of the season. Albeit from a lower league, in form, match fit and ready to go.

Suspect vultures will be circling the French league this summer.

DAZN stepped in last summer with a TV deal but it was dependent on fixed number of subscribers and they could withdraw next December or presumably re-negotiate. They are way off target.

Perils of an utterly dominant single team in a country where football is not the national obsession.

In most other business sectors being the dominant force, even if you sustain significant losses getting there, is the aim. The risk in football is that it kills the golden goose.
Most french clubs are owned by English clubs anyway

Last time we got a mention in the BBC Football Gossip column was three days ago and that was about Keane going to Sheff United. Nothing happening and Keane is still here (n)

I think that is good news. I'd rather someone just appeared holding the shirt on the front page of the website rather than being endlessly linked with players we have no interest in, we can't afford, or who would not even consider a move to us at the moment - who are likely being touted by agents, probably mostly to get better deals where they are.

See Sheff Utd have agreed a £10 mill fee for Tom Cannon.

We have a sell on cluase right?

20% of profit I believe, so wont be much, as I think we reportedly sold him for £8m. Also, likely to be paid across the length of the contract not in a lump sum. So could be as little as £80k-£100k a year. Every little helps I guess!

The % of profit deal only really works out if you have sold mega-cheap and they get sold on for a fortune - a bit like Kilman.

I wouldnt be against getting Willian in till the end of the season. God forbid Ndiaye gets injured least he would provide some trickery around the box. Would be an ok replacement for Ndiaye late on in a game too if he's running out of steam.
