Being caught up in the excitement of Thursday, in retrospect the lack of presence and endorsement from stakeholders was / is a cause for concern.
The club has done far better than I expected in terms of the public presentation of this to date and the overall branding of this within the "People's Project" is clever marketing. They clearly must have on-boarded professional consultancy for this which is what I wanted them to do.
Perhaps we will see and demand more engagement and commitments over time but we are a football club and not a regenerative agency and whilst there is always going to be an element of spin from the club in stating the long term non football benefits of BMD, we have shown time and again our understanding of honouring the legacy of GP on one hand and arguably being the leading club in terms of community support and engagement and that is something that needs to be taken seriously by public bodies and politicians in particular.
