There was a shirt pull and clash of feet.I don't know why a dive is needed for a shirt pull. It's a weird one. Did the ref give it because of the shirt pull or the dive?
I'm totally convinced it's not incompetence, but motivated and driven by sheer corruption. They don't even try to hide that anymore.VAR is a complete and utter joke. Good system destroyed by grossly incompetent jerks and not helped by an incompetent referee who will overrule his own decision which he had a clear and obvious view of just to stick up for his mates in the VAR room.
Needs binning altogether because there simply are no competent people in English football to run it properly.
Correct. Slot, Klopp, Alex Ferguson, Mourinho etc etc would have been demanding a reply, calling them out, suggesting integrity, putting pressure on them... and then benefiting in future gamesIt's part of the reason we continually get screwed by VAR and officaldom. We take it willingly and pliantly.
I think the latter. The dive should be totally unnecessary, if the var would be there to make the game more fair. But as it's the opposite, I can somehow understand the theatrics by YoungI don't know why a dive is needed for a shirt pull. It's a weird one. Out of interest was it a handball for that Fernandes freekick?
Yeah. Ridiculous from Doucs tbh.
The Ref gave it because he thought Maguire had pulled Young down, after reviewing footage from a couple of angles VAR saw Maguire didn’t pull his jersey. So they called the Ref over who reversed the decision.I don't know why a dive is needed for a shirt pull. It's a weird one. Did the ref give it because of the shirt pull or the dive?
Yes it was. As soon as Doucoure lost the ball I knew he was going to do something silly. He chased back and committed a stupid foul when another player had it covered. Then he stuck his arm up to block the free kick when it was going way over the bar. Then Pickford lined his wall up badly with gaps in it, and then tried to cover the space behind his wall instead of just covering his own side which would have been a straightforward save. A catalogue of errors .Out of interest was it a handball for that Fernandes freekick?
ExactlyIn a situation where two freakin players are tugging your shirt and impeding your progress wouldn't you want the officials to see the damned contact? Either way he was unfairly held back. The way he went down should have absolutely no bearing on the call. The contact was clear and even if you wanted to argue against the original call there wasn't nearly enough evidence to suggest it should have been overturned. It's a clownshow.
Same as in the derbyWe played good enough.
The officiating was the reason we only drew.
