Feels like we were robbed today, not a foul on Garnacho, no-one had any idea why the ref gave the second free kick, other than it being easier for that buck-toothed twit to score.

Then the penalty, could not see the playback, but why a 5 minute wait if it was a clear and obvious error? Ref should simply have worn the Manure strip.

First half we played the best I have seen in a long time, I was buzzing. 2nd half the players were fried after the very high intensity they gave in the first half and didn’t recover properly. Needed subs earlier. The penalty should have been a penalty yes Young threw himself down exaggerated but was a definite penalty the VAR not showing the shirt pull view from behind the goal so the ref could see it was Absolutely shocking they didn’t give all angles for the ref to look at and if they can’t decide within one minute they should stick to the referees initial decision. VAR is ruining the game. The ref was biased anyway look at how the yellow cards given to our players for barely a foul and they fouled our players much worse and got away with nearly all of theirs. Glad we didn’t lose and at least got a point but should have got that third goal when we were up

I think part of the issue is they don't watch the flow of the move, they freeze, and move it back and forth, it's not cricket. It was obvious on the first replay that our first goal was onside. Having seen the first 2 replays I couldn't see any reason to give us a penalty. Then the behind the goal replay showed a shirt pull. Now I don't know if VAR had that camera angle. I would suggest they didn't, hence the decision to reverse the penalty award. It's ridiculous that they don't have all of the camera angles available to them if that was the case, if not I don't understand why they overturned it, even though it was a soft penalty.

There should be a 30 second cut off with VAR. if you can’t decide in that time it’s not clear and obvious and the on field decision should stand
Been saying that since it was introduced. 3 minutes to decide that a clearly onside player was actually onside, then another review of a few minutes looking at every angle possible except the angle that shows the foul.

They have 4 guys round the ref constantly and I hate it too… bet it influences var.

Don’t know why we’re not at them telling them to eff off trying to influence/officiate the game.
Mate we are a very tough physical side but maybe just a touch too reserved and polite. Those utd players today screamed for everything, tried to blag pens, free kicks, throw ins and corners. Sometimes succeeding. They also were aiming to get us to 10 men.
Our only diver today was Young, who's been with teams who do this.
I'd hate us to go down this route, i honestly would, however i think we are disadvantadged by not doing so. How sad the game has become.

yearh i mean we can’t and won’t win them all mate i get that

and it’s night and day the football

it’s just makes me sick that it’s a clear pen and given at any other stadium except ours

i feel numb
Personally think it would have been overturned at any other club outside the Sky 6. It was about protecting Man Utd this time I feel , not necessarily screwing Everton. Against lets say West Ham or Brighton, the decision would have stood.

All VAR does is give referees an excuse. They can do what ever they want cause they know they can fall back on it to get them off the hook

Actually think it’s causing a massive unconscious bias situation. Ref gives penalty, ref watches VAR, ref thinks it’s now actually closer than first thought, red sides with top 6 club or his name will be mud if he gets it wrong in that direction. Better to offend Everton than Utd but either way, I’m guessing

VAR is a complete and utter joke. Good system destroyed by grossly incompetent jerks and not helped by an incompetent referee who will overrule his own decision which he had a clear and obvious view of just to stick up for his mates in the VAR room.

Needs binning altogether because there simply are no competent people in English football to run it properly.

Not gonna be too harsh with the ratings as it's bare bones stuff and the referee decided he didn't want us to win the game and ensured that didn't happen.

Still.

Pickford - 6 - Didn't have much to do but that's an error for their first goal. He's been brilliant this season and he can make a mistake at this stage.
O'Brien - 6 - Was really good first half but performance dropped off second half when we were backs to the wall for 40 minutes.
Tarkowski - 7 - No mistakes, strong, goals weren't down to him.
Branthwaite - 7 - Same as Tarkowski.
Mykolenko - 5 - Not really effective at all today and didn't link up with Harrison on the wing sadly.
Gueye - 7 - Great first half, tired in the second but not really his fault is it? Not exactly going to take him off when you're under pressure.
Garner - 6 - Solid first half but allowed the midfield to be dominated in the second with Fernandes running rings around them as he does every time we play them.
Harrison - 5 - Ineffective despite working hard as usual.
Lindstrom - 5 - Same as Harrison.
Doucoure - 6 - Strong first half and great effort for the goal. As usual tired badly in the second half and became a passenger before he was removed.
Beto - 7 - Brilliant first half and similar to Doucoure tired badly in the second. Obviously we have nobody really to give him a rest for, so he stays on even when knackered.

Very disappointed with the peno result. But it's another point not expected some weeks ago. I'll take it. Want to be able to relax with games to go this year of all years.

The crowd across the park will take the league with a couple games to go and it would be nice to have guaranteed safety well before that.
Just hope Bramley Moore will be safe from those pesky kopites, remember the liver building.
