In my opinion, our best midfield performance of the season was Villa away - which happened to be a proper 3 man midfield with Garner as a 6, Rohl as a right sided 8 and Armstrong as a left sided 8. As a trio, they were strong, fast and physical... and then Moyesy never played the three of them together in the middle again! For someone who loves an unchanged side, that's pretty amazing.

I think the Spider-Man mask thrown from the crowd was a tribute to Bradley Lowery who loved his super heroes in his final days.

Maybe the ref showed a rare level of emotional intelligence in not booking the Sunderland player.
Is that true? If so, then fair enough. I am not certain that's the case though.

So 6 games ago we were on the cusp of potentially a great season but it's tailed off badly and yesterday for me was our worst performance of the 6, we will likely finish even lower then we are

Ultimately for me it's a mix of a small squad resulting in a defence that was exposed and making mistakes through this period leading to points thrown away, combined with Moyes conservative approach (see playing JOB at RB, not trusting youth etc) combined with our better players being out of form when we needed them, Ndiaye and KDH didn't hit the levels needed

Injuries haven't helped, Grealish, branthwaite and even gueye towards the end - but we desperately need more recruitment in certain areas and more pace in the squad, Moyes I'm on the fence with, I still think Europe is too soon but as a fan base we are desperate to achieve something and as villa and palace show it's a route to finals

This is as bad a tail off as the carlo tail off and it's very hard to take
Lot of sense in that Socistep2 but what more evidence about Moyes’s ability do you need to get you off the fence?

What an abject performance.
Our centre back pairing have been so bad recently yet he still chose to play our most composed and available best centre half at right back.

Illy was poor along with KDH.
The only shining light for me was Rohl, thought he played well for the most part yesterday.

Was in ten streets after the game and there was a group of lads, around 10 of them, aged from about 18 to 23 I would guess, every one of them singing every Everton song you could think of. Yet not one of them will have seen us win anything. These fans deserve better.

"it is not the critic who counts"
O’Brien is our most composed available centre back ? Composed, he doesn’t know where he is most of the time no matter where he plays.

Explaining the celebration, Le Fée said: “The moment was perfect. If I scored the first goal, I wasn’t sure that I was going to do it. After a big comeback, it was the perfect one in front of our fans. Since I was young I liked Spider-Man, my favourite hero. That’s why and with my little brother so it’s a sign for him. I should’ve done the celebration a long time ago but I didn’t score. A good moment so I was happy to score in front of our fans.”

Sunderland just in the prem this season and they look miles better than us
This is our problem.

Happens year after year. From Newcastle to Villa, Forest to Sunderland and all them teams beginning with B.

We plod along in this forever apocalypse everything from Everton fans are never patient to we're not ready for Europe, look at where we've been the last few years, careful what you wish for etc.

While other clubs breeze through the red tape that holds us back.

The amount of misplaced passes, players unaware of anyone on either side and just terrible passages of play was insane. Just a terrible terrible match. Thank the LORD we made some great substitutions and got back int...... wait, Moyes made the most predictable subs at the most predictable times ever and it had 0 impact on the match?

I, for one, am SHOCKED!

least there not letting the result get them down

That was awful beyond words!
Most of the players, incapable of the simplest of passes, no drive or fight, and from the touchline no initiative or ambition to do anything about it!
An observation or two……
The O’Brien nonsense at RB has to stop, if he plays it has to be centre half - ideally alongside Branthwaite if he can ever get fully fit!
The Tarkowski/Keane thing has to stop, the second Man City goal the other week was shocking between the pair of them, and then rinsed and repeated yesterday! Slow and weak defending!
N’Diaye signed off after AFCON I’m afraid!
Take the best bits of our two “centre forwards” (reluctant to call them strikers!) and still you’d come up with player who’d struggle to get a game at Marine!
I could go on!
Then throw in to the mix the manager’s reluctance to play any other than his chosen few, the lack of opportunities for others, and the timing and lack of substitutions, it’s a hard watch!
Big Summer coming up for the Friedkins, some big decisions to be made!
I agree with all except that bit; I think you are being unfair on Beto - his hold up play has been improving and that goal was brilliant last week -

He is first to most balls when we are defending corners as well.

He is being done a great disservice by Moyes taking him off between 65 and 70 minutes because he wants to get his Arsenal loving favourite onto the pitch. Moyes has a blind spot for Barry, Keane, Tarkowski and McNeil - it's just incredibly weird that he can't see what we see.
