The improvement in form, ability, style and ultimately results is going to be a lot slower than the speed of the decline into a shambolically run club off the pitch and hopeless outfit on the pitch were.
As much as we don't like it it's going to be a long, slow road with plenty of bumps in it. Moyes certainly wasn't my choice but I can see exactly why he's here and how he'll systematically and steadily get us back on an even keel ready for somebody younger and more progressive to take us to the next stage.
Patience is the key. The second half was a really positive 45 minutes against a side who are brilliantly coached and full of pace. Their recruitment shows what can be done on a comparatively low budget and by a Club with no real 'pull'.

Bournemouth are a good team, they are pushing for European football and they have beaten us by 2 goals but while there was some very poor defence on show we also showed something going forward. We didn’t score but we did create chances, on another day a shot clips the inside of the post and goes in. The poor defending needs to be addressed, it can be as we have been solid before and being honest we are going to suffer defensively from time to time if we are going to press teams and try to win games. All in all I am disappointed that Goodison has said goodbye to the FA Cup but the main aim is to stay in the Premier League and I think we will be OK with Moyes for a while.

Good post mate, exactly how I feel about our situation and the appointment of Moyes.
Bournemouth are an extremely underrated side and have seen us off 3 times this season.
Moyes is definitely what we need at this moment in time and he's proved that already, tbh we do not have a big enough or capable enough squad of coping with any sort of cup run and a relegation fight.
Long term I'd like to seea young, hungry, aggressive manager take over the reins and inject some week to week excitement back into the club, our support deserves nothing less.

Why do we have to wait long term for that? It's a simple matter of hiring one.

A decent long term manager, would not necessarily have been a quick fix and won us 3 games on the bounce and would possibly need time to bed in, so no knee jerk decision was necessary IMO, you may not like him and he certainly isn't going to win us trophies but all round stability is what we need at this moment in time.
Who would you have appointed?

I meant for the summer.

You were stating it's something long term we needed.
