One team wins the FA Cup every year.

Even if we don’t expand the argument beyond your examples of Liverpool and City, at least one of them will not win it each year.

Is your argument here that if we simply consider ourselves winners, we will automatically win?

Is your argument here that fans on here have said that losing a cup game doesn’t matter? Because nobody has; they’ve simply said it’s not the end of the world; which it absolutely isn’t.

It’s a profound, lazy oversimplification and boring cryarsing. In every game both teams want to win, and typically the one that does is some combination of better in general and/or better on the day.

Accept it. Move on, and stop this infantile nonsense of declaring that anyone in anything other than total agreement with your whinging mustn’t be a real fan because you sound like a gargantuan tit.
It's not the end of the world today and it's highly unlikely this team is good enough to win anything.

The bigger issue is that we have too many losses like this. Especially at home. Losing became normalised at this club because there weren't high enough standards.

That's why its such a huge job for anyone to turn this club around. There's been years and years where we have just existed. Staying up was all that mattered. That mentality needs to go and Losing needs to be something thar creates urgency to improve rather than just accepting it.

But we don’t know that urgency won’t be created?! We’ve adapted to losing more because our squad has got progressively worse.

Mentality is always vastly overplayed when talking about football. How many “proven winners” have walked through the doors, only to be crap? How many post-loss interviews have we seen where the players weren’t short of effort/endeavour, etc?

Winning mentality comes from winning. Winning invariably comes from good players being coached well and coherently, supplemented by good recruitment.

I’m not saying mentality plays NO part, but at the moment it’s the least of our concerns. The team is playing demonstrably better football than we have in years and before today we were seeing results from it. Barring the proverbial coat of paint today we’d have seen another one.

Be disappointed, of course, just getting wound up by the pro whingebags on here absolutely revelling in our latest defeat.

There's been no urgency whatsoever in recent years. The squad has been allowed to decline year on year. That should never have been allowed to happen

Mentality matters hugely in top level sport but it's set from the very top of an organisation. There needs to be an urgency to improve moving forward because results like today are to be expected with our current squad, but should never be viewed as acceptable

Poor result - not encouraging given that was the 1st team.

Obvs we get knocked out of these cups every year.

Back to the battle for safety and some new players then.

Bournemouth are a snide fouling team and the ref let them get away with everything. We need to toughen up. Off the boil today , defence was poor and the left side offered nothing with Young there. Tarky had a pure stinker, hopefully Doucoure will be replaced by Alcarez and Gueye long term by Tim.
I'm not convinced Tim is the Gana replacement though. Seems more box-to-box than defensive midfielder who breaks up play?

The club has been performing much better the past few matches and plenty to be hopeful about. Today’s mistakes were mental and easily corrected. I love what we saw from Alcaraz in his debut. Brilliant strike off the free kick. Really looking forward to the summer and a rebuild.

Disappointing, but maybe focusses minds that we're not actually that good and still have work to do in the league. Tarks was rubbish today and - dare I say it - we missed Mykolenko getting forward on the left. We were unlucky not to pull one back in the second half (first half was v. poor), and would have been an interesting finish.

Which brings us back to nobody viewing them as acceptable. People on here just want to assert that others are doing, because we’re not tearing our hair out and screaming at the sky.

It’s perfectly possible to accept a bad result and move on, without it being symptomatic of some mental midgetry.
