That's what I thought.

It was my understanding you could use 5 substitutes but only make changes on 3 occasions.

Chamberlain came on for the start of the second half mate, therefore the game didn't have to be stopped, the 3 windows rule for subs is only when the game has to be stopped to allow subs to come on.

Temporary rule change, so teams have 5 subs to use instead of 3. They used 2 for injuries to Milner and Matip (Gomez and Loveren), Oxlaide-Chamberlain for Minamino at HT and then later brought on Origi and Wijnaldum

Some positives to take out of this game, but overall this match was complete dross. Football without matchday fans is a worthless exercise, and watching just reinforces how important the fans are to the sport.
