Dyche just doesn't understand. He's just not Everton. He's a narcissist with central character syndrome. I get the sense he's affronted that the fanbase aren't more appreciative. He definitely put on a display of ironic clapping at the full time whistle today in response to the chorus of boos.

Last season at Goodison. Everton moving to a new ground. Which bits are supposed to matter to someone like Dyche!?
The only thing that matters to Dyche is his reputation - he's not stupid, he's been around the block enough to know worst case he gets sacked in a month and gets the last £3m of his contract paid up. There's no downside.

So you perpetuate the narrative the talking heads in the media already spout: "he organizes a team", "he's defensively solid", "he's a set piece expert", "his teams are hard to beat" yada yada yada - all the garbage power voices like Neville and Carragher spout without ever actually watching his teams.

That's what gets him his next 3-year £15m contract in a year from now when the bottom 6 or 7 teams in the Prem winter 2025 start to panic and want 'a proven safe pair of hands' to keep them in the richest league in the world no matter the style.

Not ill thought out, I wasn't criticizing you; I was just saying its the last 19 league games at GP after over a century of football (all the history, all the great wins, all the great players, all the trophies won and those missed out on, the school of science, and all the memories etc etc) and it's almost as if in the real world, not a soul seems to care iota about it because everything is "just get to BMD, just get to BMD".

Not saying every home game should be a party but if you didn't know anything about the new stadium it feels like every match day is just the same as any other over the last 4 years. You'd think the final few games at GP after over 100 years is something the club/manager/players would want to tap into for a real send off, but apparently nope.
I know what you mean mate but I feel like the energy has been sapped out of the fans and it’s a travesty but it has been a horrible few years.

100yrs on...

Can't beat 10 men ffs

“The world will end not with a bang but a whimper”

is a line from the 1925 poem"The Hollow Men by TS Eliot

The line conveys a sense of acceptance and resignation to the emptiness and futility of life.

Hollow Men Indeed.

The energy absolutely HAS been sapped out the fans - for a number of reasons over a number of years, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime event. 100+ years at GP for a club that bangs on about it's "history" like no other, and yet, it just doesn't feel like a 'special season' when it should.

But that's what you get when you have an absentee owner who couldn't care less just wants a sale, an interim board who know full well they'll be out of a job in six months, an egotistical manager who needs everything to be about him otherwise its just "noise" that needs to be dismissed and not tolerated. Then there's the players who are paid to do a job, not give a sheeeet about things that dont concern them.

There'd be no resignation if good ol' Ian Holloway were manager (Warnock as assistant unless he's retired for the 715th time).

Proper Goodison send off, with a west country tractor boy that even YouTube can't get the subtitles right for. 👍

Everyone in the ground knew what the outcome would be,I even heard one guy say at least we can get a point now,we’ve all forgotten what a win feels like,Dyche draining the soul out of an iconic stadium with this safety first pragmatic BS,not an ounce of ingenuity, and change cannot come soon enough
